ABOUT

Michael Wheatley

Like a force of nature this Sydney based artist has continued to carve deep and glorious pathways in music, burlesque, cabaret, performance art, hosting, modelling, DJing and sound production since 1987 nationally and globally. With a passion to stay true to his art and collaborators whilst always challenging and pushing the envelope further it is hard to keep up with what Michael is working on next. Be it a live cabaret show, a new album or a cheeky neo-burlesque act the only guarantee is that it will be an experience and offered from the bottom of the artist's heart.

2019 saw Michael complete a successful tour of Fringe World Perth, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Newcastle Fringe performing in many shows including his own "Forever In My Life - A Tribute 2 Prince", "Michael Wheatley & the Dirty Carpet Disco Band" and "Red Light Confidential". On top of this he has toured Australia non-stop as either an MC, singer, burlesque performer, actor, piano player and producer or a mix of all of the above!

2020 started with a bang seeing Michael at Perth FRINGE WORLD and Adelaide Fringe performing his 5 star, one man cabaret Forever In My Life - A Tribute 2 Prince as well as starring in A Disney Tribute - Once Upon A Teaser, The Greatest Magic Show, Burlesque O Rama, Red Light Confidential. Best Of Fringe Variety, Runaway Theatre and Flight Of Fancy.

Although COVID-19 saw the cancellation of most of Michael's live bookings this has not stopped him and his creative nature. In the last few months Michael has co-produced the IGTV version of Red Light Confidential, made Lilac Wine the short film and finished his first album in 3 years, Static Alley.

2023 has so far been a wonderful year for Michael with the touring of his newest solo cabaret show “A Musical Enema by Michael Wheatley” to Adelaide and Sydney Fringe and a steady release of singles in the lead up to his newest album “Songs in the Key of Butt Hurt” out in mid November.
